The world of podcasting has extended well beyond NPR and true crime. In fact, over the past few years, HR Tech and recruiting leaders have launched their own podcasts to share stories, interview experts, and dissect trends. Many also offer tips and tools for expanding your potential as a recruiter!
Whether you’re an experienced HR professional or new to recruiting, the below podcasts will help you stay connected and engaged with your work. Check them out below and let us know which are your favorites, too!
The media company RecruitingDaily hosts several different podcast series, including one with RecruitingDaily’s President and Editor-at-Large, Willam Tincup. Each 20 to 30-minute episode features a special guest discussing the biggest challenges faced in HR, technology, and recruiting. Recent topics range from using chatbots in recruiting to innovative PTO policies.
Tune in to RecruitingDaily’s podcast later this month to hear from Fetcher’s Co-founder and CEO, Andres Blank, who will be on with RecruitingDaily’s Executive Editor Mark Feffer.
Designed for senior HR leaders, Digital HR Leaders episodes hone in on how data, technology, and people intersect. Listeners can expect long-form interviews on how HR professionals can become “more digitally and numerically literate.” Recent shows have brought on heavy-hitters like Arianna Huffington and HR executives from Wal-Mart and VaynerMedia.
Jessica Miller-Merrell’s podcast strives to be a soundboard for disruptive ideas in the workplace. While the show appeals to a general audience, the diverse guest perspectives can help recruiters get a broader understanding of candidates’ hopes and fears for their next role. For instance, recent episodes have addressed toxic workplaces and technology’s potential to bridge the disability employment gap.
The self-proclaimed “Most Dangerous Podcast” in HR is hosted by Chad Sowash and Joel Cheesman. In the snarky pair’s Firing Squad episodes, they grill a start-up or new recruitment platforms to see how they take the pressure. If you’re looking for strong, fresh takes on the latest recruiting news, this is one show to add to your queue.
As the name implies, Matt Alder’s podcast focuses on where HR and recruitment are headed. Matt seeks to “Be Insightful, Be Inspiring, Be Inclusive” to current and future leaders in the field. The 20 to 30-minute episodes on topics like The Future of Talent Acquisition and Interview Intelligence go down easily with your morning cup of coffee.
Happy hours aren’t going anywhere, and neither is the HR Happy Hour podcast. Hosts Steve Boese and Trish McFarlane of H3 HR Advisors tackle the issues today’s HR professionals face while sprinkling in the occasional pop culture tie-in. Recent episodes include Improving Employee Experience with HR Technology, Inclusion Lessons from the Special Olympics, and the Workplace Movie Hall of Fame: Apollo 13.
Finding a podcast you enjoy can take time, but it’s a great way to stay engaged in the HR Tech space while walking, driving, or relaxing. Once you’ve found your new favorites, make sure to subscribe to them wherever you are listening so that you never miss a new episode!
